It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of one of our industry’s best engineers, Robert Mackellar, effective from 1 July.

Those who have worked with Rob during his distinguished career - including in his roles at TTW for almost 40 years, from Engineer to Director, Managing Director, and Executive Chairperson - know the indelible mark he has left on TTW and our industry. His leadership has been characterised by an unwavering commitment to our staff, clients, and partners, fostering an enduring culture of excellence, collaboration, and creative design that has nurtured a new generation of leaders at TTW and laid a firm foundation for TTW to continue creating positive outcomes.

Rob's retirement has been part of our succession plan, and over the past 24 months, we've further fortified our leadership with new Directors and enhanced our capabilities across Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Jakarta and Melbourne. Our investment in staff development has always been pivotal to our success and will remain a core focus. To ensure a successful transition, Rob will continue to act at TTW as Non-Executive Chairperson. His ongoing presence will undoubtedly inspire and steer TTW as we embrace future challenges and opportunities.

Instrumental in growing several areas of our business, notably our Health Portfolio, Rob helped to deliver over 30 major hospitals across Australia, including Maitland Hospital. He also implemented and developed our Façade Engineering discipline, which has grown steadily across all our locations. Rob also led several TTW teams on some of our most iconic projects, including NGV Contemporary.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Rob for his immeasurable contributions to TTW and the broader engineering community. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.
