Set to become a significant recreational and sports precinct, the Westleigh Park project is a major win for both the local and greater Sydney community. Westleigh Park provides an opportunity to add value to the community within a park site that encourages informal recreation.
“It will transform the Hornsby Quarry into the Centennial Park of the north and mean the disused Westleigh Water Board site will provide sporting fields for our entire community to enjoy.” said State Liberal MP Matt Kean.

The site would be transformed into a “landmark recreation space” with soccer, cricket, Aussie rules football and netball facilities, as well as mountain bike tracks.
Originally a former sewage dump that was closed in 1964, the 34 hectares site was purchased from Sydney Water in June 2016, to be developed as a vibrant and unique public space for the use and enjoyment of the whole community.
