TTW was thrilled to receive the Victorian Engineering Excellence Award for the innovative Bunjil Place project, recognising creative engineering and iconic innovation.
The aesthetically-striking building is the largest local government investment of its kind and responds to the needs of the Narre Warren region with a new form of community and civil space – a multifunctional facility designed to be a cultural and civic heart that reflects the values of the community and instils a sense of place and pride for residents.
Featuring visually-striking elements such as the free-form timber grid shell structure that extends from the building’s base into the rooftop, creating a visually spectacular frame for the building and the free-form roof structure, constructed of steel with spectacular cantilevers at the building edges. This complex project produced challenges that required the highest levels of expertise, creativity and mastery of detail to bring to fruition.
The success of the project is the result of dedicated work and collaboration with the City of Casey, fjmt studio, Multiplex, consultants, and contractors. Congratulations to the whole team on this great recognition!
