6,000 cubic metres of sandstone rock removed from underneath the Sydney Town Hall building.
A major restoration to the entire building landscape. Works included essential services upgrade, conservation works to repair historic marble and encaustic tiled corridor flooring. The project also comprises the refurbishment of principal historical spaces, staff offices and back of house facilities. The basement storage was excavated beneath the main hall, with the structure supported on major trusses and carefully jacked and monitored to prevent damage to the heritage-listed building over.
TTW was also responsible for upgrading the heritage building in 1990 for the 150 year anniversary.
