National Capital Private Hospital

Canberra, ACT

A redevelopment that represents a significant upgrade to the hospital's overall facilities

This redevelopment represents a significant upgrade to the hospital’s overall facilities for both patients and medical professionals.

TTW provided Structural and Civil engineering design for the new five storey extension which accommodates three new operating theatres, a 35 bed inpatient unit, 22 bed intensive care unit, 14 bed day chemotherapy unit, consulting suites, support services and additional parking.
Optimising the design to suit the shape of the building, plus transfer structures dictated by the theatre layouts, were our primary challenges.

Building posed a particular challenge due to integration of the floor plan with the existing operational facilities. Vibration analysis was completed to optimise the location and performance of the radiology equipment, minimising the requirement for additional concrete structure.
