The gateway and the crossing will be new elements that speak to the University's contemporary identity.

In 2022 the University will build an elevated footbridge to allow a safe and streamlined passage for students, staff and visitors directly into the heart of campus.

The new walkway will connect Macquarie University's Metro station, nearby Herring Road bus interchange and Macquarie Shopping Centre, and ending at a convenient point within the campus adjacent to the Campus Common area.

Our team has undertaken extensive two-dimensional TUFLOW flood analysis to ensure limited impacts to University Creek occur within and external to the site.

Internal road realignments and adjustments to existing signalised intersections external to the site have been designed and documented by our engineers through 3D modelling software 12D. Additionally, revised signal phasing plans and intersection alignments have also been reviewed and approved through Roads and Maritime Services.
