Spanning over 100,000m2 , Lakeside is one of Perth's largest shopping destination located 25km north of the Perth CBD. The facility welcomes over 240 retailers including Myer, Coles, Woolworths, IGA, grand cinemas and other fashion labels. The comprehensive retail offering delivers a unique shopping experience to the rapidly expanding Joondalup precinct. Detailed master planning was required to accommodate over 5000 car spaces, a multi-deck car park and access to a major train line.In this case, new loads were applied to the existing tunnel columns and walls and an assessment made of the redundancy in the existing tunnel structure.
