Killara High School is part of a major school upgrades programKillara High School is one of the 14 major school upgrades providing the latest education facilities for students and to support the growing local community. This represents a $280 million investment in children's education.
The new building is a multi-level concrete framed structure, housing 15 new permanent teaching spaces, two specialist spaces, and upgrades to some of the school's existing core facilities.
It also features an inground stormwater drainage catchment tank.
The proposed building was situated over a steep sloping site, whereby part of the ground floor was on grade, and part was close to 5 metres in the air. To ensure no differential settlement, the ground floor 'internal' space was designed as fully suspended.
Due to varying site conditions, TTW worked collaboratively with the builder to successfully deliver the project on time.
