Designed to provide a central gathering space

This striking new development in rural Moe was designed to provide a central gathering space and reinvigorate the regional community. Forming a bold, visible landmark in all directions, the complex features two large structural steel boxes that cantilever from the concrete frame at the second level ; producing the impression of a floating structure. With unimpeded views of surrounding mountain ranges, the two timber clad portals sit over a gently curved podium.

The project was delivered within a modest budget, utilising locally-sourced materials and trades, and a focus on sustainability. The result has been an impressive award-winning space that provides a much-needed civic heart for the community.
