Transforming multi-functional materials research into commercial reality
The AIIM facility at the Innovation Campus of University of Wollongong consists of two 4 storey buildings for offices and various laboratories, and a two storey electron microscopy building. The electron microscopy building houses 7 electron microscopes. There are 2 FEGTEM’s, which is one of Australia’s most sensitive microscopes, 2 TEM’s and 3 FEGSEM’s, all of which are extremely sensitive equipment. A timber structure was adopted to house the equipment due to the strict vibration constraints and electromagnetic interference shielding requirements.
