In this role you will: .

  • Liaise with engineers and external consultants on the preparation and coordination of design elements.
  • Convey civil design information into a format which can be interpreted by contractors.
  • Assist Lead Engineer/senior designer in the preparation of preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required.
  • Provide training and assistance to junior designers including technical support of civil 3D and other software.
  • Actively input ideas to the progressive improvement of the design and drafting systems
  • Communicate relevant project information as appropriate to the project leaders/project team.

Who we are looking for:

This role is ideally suited to someone with:

  • Relevant TAFE qualification or equivalent
  • At least 10 years in a similar role
  • Team player that works seamlessly with all levels of staff
  • Strong understanding of Austroads and relevant Australian or regional Standards
  • Proficient in the use of Civil 3D for road & infrastructure design utilising best practice geometry inside of a National Systemised framework.
  • Experience in delivering large civil projects and leading a project documentation team.
  • Ability to develop vertical and horizontal geometry in accordance with Austroads or similar regional road design standards with limited engineering input.
  • Ability to design stormwater drainage to relevant Australian Standards & local requirements with minimal engineering input.
  • Ability to co-ordinate existing & proposed utilities
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving/analytical skills with a great attention to detail
