The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Payroll Manager for a 6-month contract to support TTW during a pivotal phase of growth. This role offers a unique blend of operational and strategic responsibilities, combining hands-on payroll management with a comprehensive review of existing processes and systems. The objective is to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness of the payroll function. The Payroll Manager will collaborate closely with both the Finance and HR teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across departments.
In this role, you will:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, predominantly within Australia, but also overseeing payroll in Singapore and Indonesia, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Conduct a strategic review of current payroll systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Collaborate closely with Finance and HR teams to align payroll operations with broader business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, superannuation, and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including leave balances, entitlements, and employee data.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll, benefits, and entitlements in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare payroll reports and analytics for internal stakeholders and external auditors as required.
- Support the implementation of new payroll systems or upgrades, including testing and training.
Who are we looking for?
- Previous proven experience in improving payroll systems and processes
- Proven experience in payroll management, ideally for a mid sized business
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with a variety of payroll systems
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset – you’re not afraid to get in the weeds
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different levels of the organisation.
- Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information with discretion
