You will:

  • You will manage drafting on large projects autonomously and lead junior drafters within the project team.
  • Manage small projects autonomously where no Lead Engineer is allocated
  • Liaise with engineers and architects on the preparation and coordination of documentation.
  • Competently convey structural information into drawing format which can be interpreted by builders.
  • Assist Lead Engineer in the preparation of preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required.
  • Provide training and assistance to junior drafters including technical support of Revit and other software.
  • Actively input ideas to the progressive improvement of the drafting systems
  • Communicate relevant project information as appropriate to the project leaders/project team.

About you:

This role is ideally suited to someone with:

  • Relevant TAFE qualification or equivalent
  • At least 5 years in a similar role
  • Proficient in structural drafting using Revit
  • Strong understanding of BCA and relevant Australian Standards
  • Demonstrated experience to lead and supervise a team of Drafters
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving/analytical skills
