Success for the TTW Rowing Team
After a gruelling training campaign and many 5am starts, the TTW rowing team earned well-deserved success at the Leichhardt Rowing Club Corporate Challenge held on Sunday 3 September. Up against strong competition – including a couple of former Olympians – the TTW crew placed second in their heat, second in the semi-final, and second in the “Construction Cup” final. Their strong performances despite tough handicaps, earned them a place in the Grand Final, where they placed fourth overall – an extremely commendable result!
Held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith, the event involved a total of 17 entrants – including banks, telecommunications companies, retailers, and airlines. The TTW team – many of whom had never rowed before – consisted of: Kelvin Holey (Bow), Andre Pereira, Amir Azad, Mark Sherlock, Nick Freeland, Scott Nixon, Michael King, and Richa Sud (Stroke). Well done team – you’ve certainly represented us well, and earned some sleep-ins!
