Royal Prince Alfred Hospital

Camperdown, NSW

The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA), located in Camperdown, is a primary public teaching hospital of the Sydney Medical School at The University of Sydney. A major refurbishment and new build to the existing hospital included 11 levels of new clinical services, laboratories, maternity facility and ward blocks.

The existing building was first constructed in 1880, making RPA one of Sydney’s oldest hospitals. The new build required a design that was considerate of significant heritage elements.

The major extension works also facilitated a new helipad and a new cyclotron enclosure as well as a refurbishment of a number of buildings throughout the campus.
