Liverpool's $740m health precinct will rival the greatest in the world
The masterplan and redevelopment of the Liverpool Hospital and Academic Precinct (LHAP) includes the demolition of existing buildings and replacement with new buildings, along with associated infrastructure and modifications to suit planning for 2026 and beyond.
The works involve a complex staging program on a confined site. Particular issues will include construction of new buildings over operating cancer care bunkers, challenging flood conditions, substantial modification and refurbishment of existing buildings, and maintenance of the hospital functions over a substantial construction period.
A number of options were assessed during masterplan and concept stages, and the works are now proceeding in to design phases.
