We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Drafter to join our team in the Melbourne office. Your Main Responsibilities

  • Manage drafting on large projects autonomously and lead junior drafters within the project team
  • Liaise with engineers and architects on the preparation and coordination of documentation
  • Competently convey structural information into drawing format which can be interpreted by builders
  • Assist Lead Engineer in the preparation of preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required
  • Act as the first point of contact on projects and answer queries from others
  • Review the work of and provide training/assistance to junior drafters including technical support of Revit and other software
  • Actively input ideas to the progressive improvement of the drafting systems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and Quality Assurance procedures

 

About You

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience
  • At least 6 years experience in drafting
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Revit
  • Strong understanding of BCA and relevant Australian Standards
  • Ability to provide technical support to other drafters
  • Demonstrated project management skills to deliver on time, on budget to client requirements
  • Ability to competently liaise with clients, architects, and builders
