In the specialised field of heritage engineering, Paul Connett brings to TTW over 30 years of experience in the assessment, conservation, economic recycling and repair of historic buildings and structures.
Paul’s career in structural and civil engineering has encompassed consultancies in both the UK and Australia, working on significant heritage projects constructed from a full range of materials, including stone buildings. He is fluent with historical materials and construction techniques and keeps abreast of current government legislation. Paul has a commitment to an open and collaborative working style with both clients and stakeholders. His aim is to achieve the most for a building in terms of its conservation, while leaving the client with an asset that has great value.
Paul is also dedicated to sharing his knowledge with fellow professionals and tradespeople – learning from them as much as providing expert advice. He has taken part in public lectures and authored a number of technical papers. His industry involvement includes 6 years as the Structural Engineer representative to the NSW Heritage Branch Technical Advisory Group (TAG), which provides technical advice to the NSW Heritage Council, Heritage Branch of the Office of Environment & Heritage, and to the heritage industry more widely.
